  • 1 piece large egg yolk
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 40 g semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and packed brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the large egg yolk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing each cookie about 5 cm apart.
  8. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
