- 30 g unsalted butter softened
- 1 piece large egg yolk
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.125 teaspoon salt
- 40 g semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
- In a medium bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and packed brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the large egg yolk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing each cookie about 5 cm apart.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
