  • 1 piece garlic clove minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 g fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 30 g onion small diced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper ground

  1. Wash and dice the ripe red tomatoes into small pieces.
  2. Peel and finely dice the small onion.
  3. Peel and mince the garlic clove.
  4. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Add the diced onion to the pan and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  6. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring frequently.
  7. Add the diced tomatoes to the pan and stir to combine with onion and garlic.
  8. Add salt and ground black pepper to the mixture and stir well.
  9. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  10. Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the sauce in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  11. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed before serving.
