  • 3 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 15 g unsalted butter melted
  • 1 piece large egg

  • 30 g shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 5 g fresh parsley chopped
  • 5 g fresh chives chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm whole milk, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir gently and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted unsalted butter, and large egg to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. In a small bowl, mix shredded sharp cheddar cheese, ground cinnamon, chopped fresh parsley, chopped fresh chives, and ground black pepper.
  7. Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 20x15 cm.
  8. Evenly spread the cheese and herb mixture over the dough rectangle.
  9. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.
  10. Cut the log into 4 equal pieces and place them cut side up in a greased small baking dish.
  11. Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  12. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  13. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  14. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
