  • 100 g ground beef (lean)
  • 30 g cheddar cheese shredded
  • 10 g green onion sliced
  • 6 piece wonton wrappers
  • 15 ml soy sauce low sodium
  • 10 ml ketchup
  • 5 ml yellow mustard
  • 1 piece garlic clove minced
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add ground beef (lean).
  2. Cook ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Add minced garlic clove and sliced green onion to the beef and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Remove skillet from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, soy sauce low sodium, ketchup, yellow mustard, and black pepper ground until well combined.
  5. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the beef mixture into the center.
  6. Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water, fold it in half to form a triangle, and press edges firmly to seal.
  7. Repeat with remaining wonton wrappers and filling.
  8. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 180C (350F).
  9. Fry wontons in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  11. Serve hot with extra soy sauce mixed with ketchup and mustard as a savory dipping sauce.

  • Do not overfill wontons to avoid breaking during frying.
  • Drain fried wontons on paper towels to keep them crispy.
