  • 100 g spaghetti pasta dry
  • 1 piece hard-boiled egg peeled
  • 30 g Gruyere cheese grated
  • 10 g unsalted butter
  • 30 ml whole milk
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground
  • 1 pinch salt

  1. Fill a medium pot with water and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Add the spaghetti pasta dry to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. While pasta cooks, place the egg in a small pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 9 minutes for hard-boiled.
  4. Drain the cooked spaghetti and reserve 30 ml of pasta water.
  5. Peel the hard-boiled egg and chop it into small pieces.
  6. In the same pot used for pasta, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  7. Add the reserved pasta water and whole milk to the melted butter and stir to combine.
  8. Add the cooked spaghetti back into the pot and toss to coat with the butter and milk mixture.
  9. Stir in the grated Gruyere cheese until melted and creamy.
  10. Add the chopped hard-boiled egg to the pasta and gently mix to combine.
  11. Season with a pinch of salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  12. Serve immediately while warm.
