  • 15 g unsalted butter softened
  • 30 g cream cheese softened
  • 20 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 ml whole milk for icing

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm whole milk and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted unsalted butter, half a large egg beaten, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a 20x15 cm rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread softened unsalted butter evenly over the dough.
  8. Mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  9. Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  10. Cut the log into 3 equal pieces and place them in a greased small baking dish.
  11. Cover and let rolls rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
  12. Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F).
  13. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  14. While baking, prepare icing by mixing softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and whole milk until smooth.
  15. Remove rolls from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  16. Spread cream cheese icing generously over warm rolls before serving.
