- 50 g granulated sugar
- 40 g whole almonds toasted
- 30 g candied orange peel chopped
- 20 g candied lemon peel chopped
- 40 g all purpose flour sifted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 150 degrees Celsius (300 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Line a 15 cm (6 inch) round cake pan with parchment paper and lightly dust with flour.
- In a saucepan, combine honey and granulated sugar over low heat until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in toasted whole almonds, chopped candied orange peel, and chopped candied lemon peel.
- In a separate bowl, sift together all purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and unsweetened cocoa powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the honey mixture, stirring well to combine into a thick batter.
- For the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes until firm and slightly golden on top.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely in the pan before removing and slicing.
- Dust the top lightly with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
