  • 15 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 100 ml cold water

  1. Rinse the fresh red currants thoroughly under cold running water and remove any stems.
  2. In a blender, combine the rinsed red currants, granulated white sugar, fresh lemon juice, and cold water.
  3. Blend the mixture until smooth and well combined, about 30 seconds.
  4. For the blended mixture into a shallow metal or glass baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Place the dish in the freezer and let it freeze for 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and break up the ice crystals forming around the edges.
  7. Return the dish to the freezer and repeat the scraping process every 30 minutes for about 2 to 3 hours until the granita is fully frozen and fluffy.
  8. Scoop the granita into serving glasses and serve immediately for a refreshing treat.
