- 150 g skinless chicken breast diced
- 75 g basmati rice uncooked
- 50 g onion medium diced
- 1 piece garlic clove minced
- 5 g ginger fresh minced
- 50 g tomato medium diced
- 30 ml plain yogurt whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 150 ml water
- 0.5 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 0.5 teaspoon ground coriander
- 0.25 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 0.5 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper ground
- 5 g fresh cilantro chopped

Instructions
- Rinse basmati rice under cold water until water runs clear, then soak for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a medium pot over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and cook until they start to sizzle, about 30 seconds.
- Add diced onion and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add diced tomato and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
- Add diced chicken breast and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in plain yogurt, ground coriander, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and black pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
- Drain rice and add it to the pot, stirring gently to combine with the chicken mixture.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover pot with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is cooked and water absorbed.
- Turn off heat and let biryani rest covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff rice gently with a fork and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
