1
- 60 g all purpose flour
- 45 g unsalted butter softened
- 30 g granulated sugar
- 25 g brown sugar packed
- 0.5 piece large egg yolk
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.125 teaspoon salt
- 50 g semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
- In a medium bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and packed brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add half a large egg yolk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat well until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips
- Use room temperature butter for easier creaming and better texture.
- Do not overmix the dough to keep cookies tender.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if time allows for thicker cookies.
