- 200 g peeled potato sliced
- 100 g smoked ham diced
- 50 g onion sliced
- 1 piece garlic clove minced
- 50 ml whole milk cream
- 100 g reblochon cheese sliced
- 10 g unsalted butter
- 1 pinch black pepper ground
- 1 pinch salt

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 Fahrenheit).
- Peel and slice potatoes into thin rounds about 3 mm thick.
- Boil sliced potatoes in salted water for 10 minutes until just tender, then drain.
- Heat unsalted butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onion and minced garlic clove to the pan and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add diced smoked ham to the pan and cook for 2 minutes to warm through.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the boiled potatoes.
- Spread the ham and onion mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Add the remaining potatoes on top of the ham mixture.
- For whole milk cream evenly over the layered potatoes and ham.
- Season with a pinch of salt and ground black pepper.
- Place sliced reblochon cheese on top of the dish, rind side up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Tips
- Use reblochon cheese for authentic flavor but camembert can be a substitute.
- Do not overcook potatoes in boiling water to avoid them becoming mushy.
- Let the tartiflette rest before serving to allow flavors to meld.
