  • 1 pinch salt fine
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 Fahrenheit).
  2. Pat dry the cod fillet with paper towels.
  3. Season the cod fillet with salt and ground black pepper on both sides.
  4. Heat extra virgin olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add minced garlic clove to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Place the cod fillet in the skillet and sear for 2 minutes on one side.
  7. Flip the cod fillet carefully and cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Arrange sliced fresh figs on top of the cod fillet.
  9. Sprinkle crumbled goat cheese evenly over the figs and cod.
  10. Add fresh thyme leaves and drizzle fresh lemon juice over the top.
  11. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8 minutes until the cod is cooked through and cheese is slightly melted.
  12. Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
