  • 30 g unsalted butter
  • 20 g granulated sugar
  • 1 piece large egg
  • 15 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch powdered sugar for dusting

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces for easy melting.
  3. In a heatproof bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and unsalted butter.
  4. Melt the chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  5. Remove the bowl from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk the large egg and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
  7. Add the vanilla extract to the egg mixture and mix well.
  8. Gently fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
  9. Sift the all-purpose flour over the mixture and fold it in carefully to combine without deflating.
  10. For the batter into a greased small baking dish or ramekin.
