- 250 ml whole milk
- 50 g granulated sugar
- 2 piece large egg yolk
- 0.5 piece vanilla bean pod split and scraped
- 10 g cornstarch
- 15 g unsalted butter

Instructions
- For whole milk into a medium saucepan.
- Split the vanilla bean pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with the back of a knife.
- Add the vanilla seeds and pod to the milk in the saucepan.
- Heat the milk mixture over medium heat until it is hot but not boiling, then remove from heat and let it infuse for 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, cornstarch, and large egg yolks until smooth and pale.
