  • 50 g mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 20 g parmesan cheese grated
  • 100 ml whole milk
  • 10 g unsalted butter
  • 10 g all purpose flour
  • 1 piece garlic clove minced
  • 5 g fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 5 g fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the potato gnocchi until they float to the surface, about 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic clove and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  5. Sprinkle the all purpose flour into the butter and garlic mixture, stirring continuously to form a smooth paste (roux).
  6. Gradually whisk in the whole milk, continuing to stir until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Remove the sauce from heat and stir in half of the grated parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  8. In a baking dish, combine the cooked gnocchi with the cheese sauce, chopped fresh basil, and chopped fresh parsley. Mix gently to coat evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and remaining parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top.
  11. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
