  • 100 g cooked ham diced
  • 50 g grated cheddar cheese
  • 100 ml whole milk
  • 15 g unsalted butter
  • 10 g all purpose flour
  • 1 piece garlic clove minced
  • 30 g onion diced
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 Fahrenheit).
  2. Boil potato gnocchi in salted water until they float, about 2 minutes, then drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat.
  4. Add diced onion and minced garlic clove to the butter and cook until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle all purpose flour over the butter and onion mixture and stir continuously for 1 minute to make a roux.
  6. Gradually whisk in whole milk to the roux, stirring constantly to avoid lumps, and cook until sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Remove sauce from heat and stir in half of the grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
