- 10 g all-purpose flour
- 120 ml whole milk
- 30 g grated Gruyere cheese
- 30 g bacon strips diced
- 1 piece garlic clove minced
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch black pepper ground
- 10 g bread crumbs

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Wash Swiss chard leaves thoroughly and chop into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add diced bacon strips.
- Cook bacon until crispy, then remove with a slotted spoon and set aside on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add unsalted butter and minced garlic clove; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Sprinkle all-purpose flour over the butter and garlic, stirring constantly to form a roux; cook for 1-2 minutes without browning.
- Gradually whisk in whole milk, stirring continuously until sauce thickens and is smooth.
- Add chopped Swiss chard to the sauce, season with salt and ground black pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until wilted.
- Transfer the Swiss chard mixture to a small gratin dish.
- Sprinkle grated Gruyere cheese evenly over the top.
- Add crispy bacon bits and bread crumbs on top of the cheese layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
