  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 40 g semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the large egg yolk and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
