  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Butter a small ovenproof dish or ramekin with a little unsalted butter.
  3. Rinse the fresh blackberries gently and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  4. Spread the blackberries evenly in the bottom of the prepared dish.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk the large egg and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy.
