  • 100 g frozen puff pastry sheet thawed
  • 30 g black olive tapenade
  • 10 g parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 piece egg yolk beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (about 400 Fahrenheit).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a clean surface to smooth it out.
  3. Spread the black olive tapenade evenly over the entire surface of the puff pastry.
  4. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese evenly on top of the tapenade layer.
  5. Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves evenly over the cheese layer.
  6. Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the puff pastry tightly towards the center.
  7. Repeat rolling from the opposite long edge until both rolls meet in the middle.
  8. Press the two rolls gently together to seal them.
  9. Wrap the rolled pastry in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up.
  10. Remove the chilled pastry roll from the refrigerator and slice it into 1 cm thick slices.
  11. Place the slices flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  12. Brush the tops of each slice with the beaten egg yolk to give a golden finish.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  14. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
