  • 150 g fresh salmon fillet skinless
  • 1 piece puff pastry sheet thawed
  • 30 g cream cheese plain
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon zest grated
  • 1 piece egg beaten
  • 1 pinch black pepper ground
  • 1 pinch salt fine

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a clean surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into a square large enough to wrap the salmon fillet.
  4. Place the fresh salmon fillet skinless in the center of the pastry square.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese plain, fresh dill chopped, and lemon zest grated.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillet.
  7. Season the salmon and cream cheese with salt fine and black pepper ground.
  8. Fold the puff pastry over the salmon to form a sealed pillow shape, pressing edges to seal.
  9. Brush the outside of the pastry with beaten egg to give a golden finish.
  10. Place the salmon pillows on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until pastry is golden and cooked through.
  12. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
