  • 1 tablespoon cooking spray

  1. Wash fresh okra pods and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Slice okra pods into 1 cm thick pieces and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, all purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and ground black pepper.
  4. For buttermilk into a separate bowl.
  5. Dip sliced okra into buttermilk, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  6. Transfer okra pieces into the cornmeal mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Preheat air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius (about 390 degrees Fahrenheit) for 5 minutes.
  8. Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  9. Place coated okra pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  10. Spray the top of okra lightly with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  11. Cook okra in air fryer at 200 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
  12. After 5 minutes, shake the basket gently to turn okra pieces for even cooking.
  13. Once cooked and crispy, remove okra from air fryer and serve immediately.
